When you need to buy or sell real estate, there are many things to consider when deciding on which agent to work with. First, it’s a good idea that your agent work in the business full time (Blog #1), and you want them to be knowledgeable in their craft (Blog #2). Of course, there are plenty of other factors to consider as well, but perhaps no factor is as critical as experience.
- Real estate is unpredictable. No two transactions are alike, and you need someone who can roll with the punches and know what they need to do to get the deal done. Agents with the most experience are the most capable to be able to deal with the unpredictability that comes with real estate.
- Real estate is always changing. Agents who can draw on past experiences while dealing with today’s market conditions are better equipped to think outside the box while best representing their clients. Agents who have only been in the business for a short while can't do this.
- Real estate is a relationship business. Those relationships matter and can help move a deal along. Long-standing agents have built impressive networks they can call upon.
